There's no need to get worried. Unless Anton for some reason suddenly changes come on and changes it, then I dunno. But that's usually how the game stores work. They get the pre-orders first, then file them all away, and then get the mass shipment of the non pre-ordered. And they are all released on the exact same release day

Pre-order shipment= Sep. 8th (Gamestop and others)

Release= Sept. 15th

And thank you, xNikex

I'm sorry, but that is not how Gamestop handles their online pre-orders and shipping. All online orders are shipped directly to the customer, not to a local store and THEN to the customer (Gamestops's Delivery Rates). You might be getting confused about pre-ordering online and doing an in-store pickup. If you do that then your pre-order is included with that stores shipment (pre-orders and non-reserved copies).

As for the actual US release date I am more inclined to believe Gamestop is correct. The gaming websites you linked do not update those release dates very often, and have no monetary interest on what date the game releases. Gamestop does as does Amazon, but I have no idea why Amazon still has the 15th listed? An EU release on the 4th bodes well for a US release on the 8th.

Well as long as I've been going to Gamestop, that's how its been handled. I usually don't do online orders, but that is how they do their in-store pickup for as long as I've known. And I wouldn't trust Gamestop on their dates, the only game site I ever frequent much is IGN, and they've always had the correct game date release. Gamespot is OK, but they depend to much on their forumers to get the release dates, rather than get it themselves. Gamespy is just a little branch of IGN so they have the same information.

I did finally decide to preorder IL2 at Gamestop. They gave me both a ship-date and a release date. The first is on Sept 8th and the second is Sept. 9th. I asked about the Sept. 15th date and the guy said he didn't see any records indicating a Sept. 15th release. All of the copies should be in on the 9th and available to the public. Pre-orders simply have a guaranteed status.

At least, that's the info I received.

Yep that was the same information I got from My Gamestop while pre-ordering a few other games today.
