I love doing multi-role stuff like F-18...or in this case F4U. But with one or the other,i have to say i am best air to air combat, but think bombing is the funnest for me. Especially low level high speed

Dogfighting is sort of my thing. I learned all kinds of maneuvers from an F/A-18 pilot in a virtual airline company I'm in, he played IL-2: 1946 for over 5 years, and is the best pilot in the game out of all of us. He taught me lots of tricks to gain a significant edge over my opponent.

On the other hand, I also love bombing runs. Maybe not in bombers itself, but more of multi-role fighters. I remember flying the Corsair and scoring perfect bombing runs, than going back up to shoot down a couple of planes, and fly home.

Dive-bombing to me is a joke, its too easy, just fly straight up, aim with your sights on your way down, and if you do it correctly, your bomb will hit right where your sight is aiming.

I'm going to have to say my favorite type of flying is the quick and fast turning and diving of a dogfight. Chasing your enemy rather than having him just lag along in a bomber or on a ship is just to easy. But when your at low to medium altitudes, you've got every chance of failure and success, riding on your skills.

I have 2 favorites (from IL2 - PC online).

Saving a wingman from some a-hole on his tail is always a really good feeling.

....another personal favorite is when you've got yourself in a jam trying to outrun 3 bandits about 20 meters off the ground. You have absolutely no energy left so you pull a very hard bank at 0 throttle. Just good enough to have a bandit go sailing past you for a quick kill. That always brings a smile to my face....of course you always get shot down a few seconds later by the other 2 bandits
