very much post war..he navigated Avro Shackletons out of Malta (RAF Luqa I think) late 50s early 60s...I guess looking for subs. They're in the process of restoring one at duxford (which I had to see one more time before emigrating)

but he used to tell me about running away from home as a kid to watch the Gloster Meteors train.

I'm trying to get my mum to digitise a photo of him beside a Jet provost trainer but she's no Bill Gates...

ahhh i see. i wish i knew stuff like that but all i know is of one of my grandads fought at normandy. the only real connection to aircraft that i know of was another of my grandads was an artist and painted a spitfire and then presented it to RJ Mitchell himself, never been able to locate the painting though

Map packs for the Pacific would be nice. At a guess the maps would come bundled with some Pacific theatre aircraft such as the Zero and Wildcat, and then there might be other aircraft available separately.

There are a couple of other expansions that could be done this way, such as a Korean War expansion pack. The same basic game engine could be used with no changes, so it would be no harder than creating some new maps and aircraft. I would love to be able to fly the Sabre and MiG-15, and a wide variety of prop engined aircraft also took part in the Korean War

I think you might be wrong here. I'm from Russia and I did get downloadable pre-order extras from GAME before. I think it was for Fable 2 Pub Games, I surely did.
