Arcade mode has auto-aim and simplified arcade damage points both. In realistic and sim modes you need to hit vital part of aircraft (pilots, engine, and so on) or destroy aerodynamic surface by enough damage (hard to perform in fact, especially on large bombers). In arcade mode you can hit vitals too, but also on some certain hits enemy falls too (like common hitpoints, depends on where you hit an enemy too)
And of course it is much harder to aim and handle on realistic and sim modes.

He-111 in the begining of war was very unprotected in fact. What was his real defence is poor RAF tactics (they flight with three pilots in a wing, not pairs, and had no experience) and gunners. Gunners are not effective in destroying fighters. Gunners are effective to protect them. It is hard to concentrate get close aim and fire, when you are under fire.
We have noticed in multiplayer that experinced virtual ace is much more effective on He-111 then unexperieced on spitfire or other fighters, even in common dogfight!

Truth is that common bomber (not highly protected like Il-2, Il-10, Stuka or Flying Fortress for example) usually were put down by 1,5-2,5 salvo (less then a 2 seconds of fire) in a fire distance.
He-111 in the begining of war wasn't protected enough to withstand fire even from 12mm bullets from 400-600 yards. Of course it is hard to hit target in 600 yards. If you dont have autoaim

Thanks for the explanation, Kirill.
That makes sense, I noticed that the damage model was tougher on realistic. Once you move on from Arcade the game smacks the purse out of your hand!

The production team has spoken! Two Yudintsevs are better than one.....less typing for Anton.

Thanks for the info. Could I ask, is it easier to shoot the AI down than it is for them to shoot you down? So if you were in a 1 v 1 dogfight, the ai pilot might be shooting at you for a while causing damage yo your plane, but you get on his tail for a few seconds and blow him to kingdom come...

On Arcade mode you have much more chances. Your flightmodel is much more easy to control as well as your engine power is much more that AI has. Also you have autoaim on your side and damages of your aircraft doesn't affect your handling or anything else.
Your speed is usually higher that means that AI has difficulties to aim.
On other side AI on arcade mode is the same as on realistic or simulator, and even weaker - he is taken 'arcade' damage - as well as 'realistic'.

I'll try to help Guilty by posting some videos. For those that have not seen it this id the intro video on the demo.

I'll get some gameplay videos up later. I'm just having a hard time on realistic and sim with a controller. Got to buy a stick that will work on 360 now.
