Default Question

I'm thinking of ditching the PS3 gamepad for the Thrustmaster hotas. Does it work on your lap or do you have to fix it to a flat surface? TIA

Yeah it works ok on your lap. The bonus about it is you can split it and have throttle and flight stick seperated by wire. Simply a couple of screws in the base and its done. It becomes slightly less stable like that when not on a hard surface but I find it comfier over long stretches as you can put them either side of you on the couch

Unless the Thrustmaster Hotas X flight stick is now doing miracles after the patch, I would not recommend you buying it. Waste of money for this game. If you buy it because you will also use it for the PC version, then buy it , maybe. There is no better option than to use the pad, sorry guys I had to learn this the hard way. Sad but true, this game in my opinion was not meant for a flight stick.

Using an analog stick to look around is generally superior to a hat switch. The ps3 controller is also small and allows you to access all the other controls while still maintaining full control of the stick, throttle and view. The only thing that sucks is the rudder.

Some people use layout 4 but I still like aviator layout because it gives great control over the throttle, you change power just by adjusting the pressure on the buttons. To make your enemy overshoot.
