Rather than pine away the next year or so last night I downloaded the mod pack (1Gb) (for the second time!) only to find that one of the files had been corrupted when I was installing it. (For the second time!!!! Unfortunately the installer didn't tell me which of the 8 files was corrupted ~~:{) ****Edit finally got non-corrupted files and got them installed First thing I did when I left work today was drop by a game shop and picked up a copy of DCS: Black Shark. (And by the way got told off by my wife for wasting money on another Bloody airplane game! Thank you very much!!! (Hey babe, ya know I love ya but it's IMPORTANT for me!)) Well if you think about it Oleg is in a hard place. First if he says anything about the game other than what's been said in the past he will be under the microscope from this community. If he doesn't say anything like he did in the article he can't come under fire.
That's part of the problem with the genre. Expectations are pretty high with this game so I think he just need to concentrate on getting out the door. The other side to that coin is the publisher that's paying for this development might have him under a tight leash. Our genre isn't the most popular nor is it the big money maker people here in the forums would like to think. Let's just hope the guy gets it out the door soon. My guess is they will push for Christmas this year. |

Some of you guys kill me, we are all entitled to our opinion, you don't see me flaming anyone because they found the interview interesting or found something new in it. I personally did not find anything new in it, but if i post it here i get flamed for whining, you guys should get out more and learn the art of debate. One more thing, now that Oleg is using modders on SOW are we now free to talk about mods on here?

The worsts part was having her looking over my shoulder while I was trying to get my HOTAS set up. The Helio bouncing across the field in a ball of dust and the wife telling how bad I was and how she wouldn't go flying with me! Last edited by Skoshi Tiger; 05-21-2009 at 06:10 AM. |

When I bought my TrackIR device years ago she whined, but after I persuaded her to try it (took days), she actually changed her mind and said she understood why I bought it... To continue this allegory... The day she stops asking me about te current state of the big project I'v been running at work for a long time, I would get disappointed. Would I call those questions "whining"? Nope, they are a sign of love... (now it gets cheesy, so let's stop here |

LOL ! I did roughly the same, mate, I tried to cool down my Il-2 sim-addiction by purchasing DCS-BS last saturday, then ordered the CH Throttle on Amazon to put it asleep for some weeks ... err, days ... OK, hours... And my wife used to whine a lot more than now, at present she limits to pop in the PC room from time to time, asking innocent questions about my online dogfights, and shamelessly rejoicing and cheering if I get killed ... subtle change of tactics, very feminine ... lol.
