Chapter 6 - soldier in cage

hey, just passed the point where i crash down into this cave, and i have to free this english soldier from the cage.....problem is i have no clue how to. theres just some cross-shaped keyhole thing on the right of the door, and the guy is inside, but i cant get it to open.

any help would be appreciated, thanks

it easy just look around the cage and you should find a key i did find my key behind some rocks close too the cage
