On the Ju88 gunpods - there was no way of using internal bombs in reality, as the electrical system was taken over by the gunpods.
However, they could carry 4 pods instead of 2 (innermost and outermost racks) plus any unused wingracks could take 'loose' butterfly bombs (roughly equivalent to an AB250 on each one). Also the pods could be jettisioned. Are you sure there were PTABs on early IL-2s in a previous version?
