I would like to elevate searchlights. I'd like them to be floating some distance off the ground, but it doesn't seem to be possible.

Correct !

Some lights and smoke are available to raise.

Yes, but the small lights do not illuminate objects like the searchlights do.

They used to be allowed elevation in FMB because i used them on static cruisers & battleships but that was a few patches back.

Would be a nice feature to allow them to be raised again.
