If you have Il2 installed in somewere other than "Program Files" you should have no trouble with "Vista" rewriting changes. It sounds like you might have trouble with HL instructions getting changed instead. Where have you installed HL?? "Program Files"?? if so try reinstalling into the same area that you have installed Il2.
