that is pretty much it... also most children are pure shit (+4 scrolls? waste of slot!), and those that ARE worthwhile, are not as good as an item.

For example, the absolute best child possible gives +5 int. The elf woman has a 10% chance to birth him, the frog woman 5%, noone else can birth him.
but there are multiple items that give more than just +5 to int. Like the skull of pain giving +5 int and +5 attack, the arch-mage staff giving +5 int and +20% lightening damage, and so on.
Bottom line, children suck and you should never have any.
