Definately better performance with SLI enabled. For what ever reason the newer drivers that have new code for openGL seem to perform slower.

In addition you can get rid of studdering by switching from AFR to Split Frame. I don't know what happened with the new drivers but they don't do well for me. Still using 177.66s and get great performance with 8800GTs in SLI mode.
