What happened to Hero creation?

You can choose from 3 character classes, and as you level you get to decide whether to increase your attack, defense, leadership, etc. Also, you collect runes throughout the game which can be spent on a WoW-like talent tree. So there is not a "hero creation" in the Fallout or Oblivion sense but it does have the standard RPG elements that let you create the type of hero you want to play.
