Freeze at Turtle

and idd... it has to do with the turle respawning BEFORE you have the conversation... if you are too quick to talk to the shaman then the battle will start before the turtle is spawned and you'll get the freeze...

Same with me. The first time i was unable to do any spells or attacks. I just realoaded and everything was fine
