Smoke and fire?

I do this too and it definitely helps with hearing a/c hits although I don't always hear flack hits.

I do see both allied and axis fighters trailing black smoke/catching fire as they go down but it isn't as often as it used to be. Last night on ATAG I did see a Spit 2a take damage and his wing caught fire rather spectacularly and thick black smoke poured out of his wing so fires aren't limited to the engine. In general though you tend to see white vapor from water radiator damage and thin black vapor from oil leaks more often than thick black smoke from fire.

I got banged by 5 spits the other night and was pouring black smoke on fire and had to bail.

Looked good but when the aircraft got to a certain distance the smoke stopped showing, hope they improve this in the sequel...

Have you checkef that you effects settings in options isnt set to low?
