Installed the patch, started the game-took ages to load and was slightly stuttery with obvious patches of very low resolution scenery.

Disappointed, then....doh...forgot the usual hacks! Deleted cache and renamed the ubi logo (I have a 7850) and reloaded...

Very quick load times, stutters almost totally gone and graphics smooth and high resolution, luvverly! Well done devs, have an 8.5/10 from me! You have just sold one copy of BOM.

Restart steam. If that doesn't force a download, verify the game files in steam.

Finally an official update. Time to get back online! It's been a while.

That ubi splash screen thing only affects ATI cards it seems. It forces your gpu to run at desktop speeds while in game correct? Maybe it would be wise to repost the delete instructions for that.

Try an FPS improvement link in my sig but it was not updated for some time and many things are not necessary any more.

Apparently the ubi logo that plays during loading artificially limits ATI cards from their top speed (apologies I am no techno-geek it has been explained much more succinctly on previous patch threads).
You find it (via my documents/1csoftclub then another folder I have forgotten!) and either delete it or rename .old so it doesn't play on first loading the game. It did make a big difference on my old 5770, not sure it does on my new 7850, but all the same it is worth doing.
Sorry I can't be more help, if in doubt look through previous patch threads and someone always asks about it.

Not correct. That is the path for the cache folder. Some believe it will increase the game by deleting the folder...never noticed a difference though.

However, you ll find the Logo in your Steam/Cliffs of dover installation under "parts". Deleting this for performance boost is imho also a myth in the meantime.
