I might have screwed up. I didn't spot that this is in fact an AGP card. IIRC, Ati support for AGP stopped at 7.7 drivers. I might be wrong, so try 7.11s and compare them to 7.7, but don't bother going on to Cat 8.x's

You have a AGP card? I bet you will get a hell of a lot better fps with a PCI-Express card! Also, turning down AA from 4X to 2X also really helps. I have also turned vertical sync off to get higher max fps. Also try water=0. You are flying, not bathing!
 . Yeah I know, eyecandy is eyecandy, but when you have an old stoneage pc like mine you ditch some eye candy!  BTW: I have also read some settings to change in conf.ini if you have dualcore? Something about "ProcessAffinityMask=1". I may think you have it right but can´t remember!

You need to restrict the game to use only one core of your cpu. You will find this in the "conf.ini" file. Here is an example:
[rts] ProcessAffinityMask=1 Yours might have a ; colon in front of it remove and experiment with which core works best. When I set mine to "ProcessAffinityMask=2" I saw that nothing was using core 1 so I changed it back to core 1 and saw other processes using core 2. Hope this helps.
