game will not start any more

Update.

I got it working.As usual it was pilot error.

I had been deleting the parts folder before extracting or copying and pasting the patch.Apparently the parts folder in the patch does not have everything the parts folder of version 1.05 has.This was causing the "launcher has stopped working" message.When I just overwrote the whole folder it worked.What fooled me was originally when I extracted it asked if I wanted to overwrite and I said yes.Apparently there are some files that are the in both folders but the original has the necessary start files.

Now to figure out how to load the lasers and smoke.

Strange that a total reinstall to the offial steam version wont even run for me then .

Antivirus or UAC problem maybe?

Or aero? Disable desktop composition in Launcher.exe properties.

Maybe a problem with the conf.ini
Go to the folder "..Steam\SteamApps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover" there you will find the orginal conf.ini copy this into your "..Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover" folder.
This helped a sqadmate with the same problems.

Hey m8 do a net frame work fix , go into control panel - programs and features - scrool down to windows net frame work 4 double click repair then restart as asked then try again, if not jump on atag ts or anouther an ill meet up with ya an walk you through a couple other things , let me know?

we had a couple guys that had to turn off anti virus just to down load patch proper as it took something out in the down load process . BTW nice to cya again! try that if no go , give me a time ill meet up with you . let me know ?
