Hello Gents,
IL2 is not dead, there is some appetizer for those who may have doubts, from Aces Over Europe HSFX6 DF Server.

Shots are taken directly from the server, no animals were hurt during the process.

Caution! Movie contains violence and blood!

Your entitled to your opinion.

I still get much more enjoyment out of flying HSFX6 (the only version of il2 I fly, UP3 isn't even close to HSFX6 imo) than Clod personally, and online its very much not dead and buried, the numbers don't lie.....

Bingo !!!!

Also how many theatres does HSFX6 cover ?

Amazing amount of maps and aircraft keep me away from a channel dogfight with eye candy unfortunately.

Each to thier own I suppose

+1
Id love to see a comparison of people flying these sims.
Heck people are still buying IL2 just to run HSFX, SAS Modact and Histomod (UP seems to have died, thanks MDS...) after 10+ years.
Bet there aren't that many people buying CoD.

Regardless as an offliner I'm happy as a pig in shi* since the release of the latest modact for 4.11
Usually these proceed a DBW release! Yipee!
But I think they should wait for 4.12 for the new DBW. Regardless TD has made a fantastic, stable base for the wizards at HSFX, SAS and Histo to work with. Cant say the same for stillborn CoD.

Agree...hard to leave the work load of Clod, you know less challenging and all that.

what workload?

109 you open your oil rad 50%, normal rad 60 ish, and off you go you can then forget about it. 109 is only vaguely interesting to fly if you fly a E1 or E3 so you at least have to play with prop pitch.

Red planes rad 50, prop back to about 80%, and control your water temp from then on in with boost. Which is exactly what i do in 4.11 anyway

The CEM is no more difficult in CLOD than 4.11 and 4.11 mod packs imo, only difference is you get a bit of text telling you you've damaged so and so rather than no message, yawn........

+ in il2 you don't have disappearing contacts and have proper aa, so you don't feel you playing a game from the 90's.

truthfully, the only thing i prefer about CLOD is the cockpits and the sky/horizon, otherwise, its very disappointing, especially the CEM, which no more follows plane handbooks than il2.

tis nice for screenshots though.

You make some good points...I'm usually in a E3 and so that is my workload. I do use flaps a lot and rear trim and of course the pitch/throttle, just seems more of a challenge than 1946 for me.
