I think those kind of shows are always embarassing to a degree. Go to any Andrew Lloyd Webber show and you're guaranteed to be squirming in your seat from the off.

'The Six Wives of Henry VIII on Ice' and the like are particularly cringeworthy kinds of show. Not that I'd ever buy a ticket myself.

The bit with the two kids on the pull by text was crap though, and went on far too long.

On the other hand, opening the show with Elgar's Nimrod was a brilliant choice. I suppose there was something in there for everyone, but conversely there was something to make everyone cringe too.

But all in all it was an entertaining show.
