I saw you have ATI, do you have more than one card in Crossfire? If so, disable Crossfire, game won't run with it on.

Actually disable catalyst AI in the ATI control panel.

Might work for you.

Also

Make sure your Anti virus isn't stopping the IL2.exe running make an exception if you need to.

Avast AV has this problem apparently.

Will check that out tonight. I run M$ Security Essentials so I'll see what it's doing with the exe. I even spent a little money on the Gogamer version to see if it was a Steam issue, but it's acting the same as well.
