In 'Offline' campaigns you can set up your own flight and the opposing enemy flight with either Ace, Veteran, Average or Rookie.
If you set youself up as an Ace, you have to fly accordingly. If you set up your No.2 as an Ace, his (AI) will protect you better than a Veteran (AI) - the secret is to constantly use your leader command list (Press Tab) to get your flight pilots where you want them. This will obviously be a much more comprehensive feature in SOW BOB. If you setup the opposing enemy flight leader as an Ace, his (AI) will give you a tougher time than an enemy Veteran (AI). Hope this helps Revi? DFLion |

Id think... I also havent tested it but I think LoOn might be on to something as well.. I have found it more of a challenge to alter the enemy AI... a few rookies.. mostly average & vets.. with a few aces.. spread out in the flight.. it makes for a more immersive fight to me...

yeah that's pretty much it - couple of aces and the rest veterans for the squadron/flight leaders, and greener pilots as the wingmen. better representation of late war luftwaffe particularly, and a bit more variety in terms of your targets evasion and firing techniques.
and i find that setting your own wingman to average means you have don't have to shoot them up as much for kill stealing - they seem less agressive but i could be imagining it... |
