I personally am happy to wait but I can see why people are getting wound up over the delay and the way it has been handled. I also think that the devs have to be very careful if they want their next release to be welcomed with open arms by those of us that still want to see CloD playable and to include the promised features. I find it hard to believe that the devs are considering leaving CloD in a half finished state to concentrate their efforts on the next release, although I do realise that decision may not be totally under their control. Can they be trusted to give long term support to the next release? Do they expect people to blindly purchase the next release after the fiasco of CloD? Reading a lot of the comments on here over the last week or so I'd say that for many the trust is waning or no longer there. and that can only hurt the sales of any future releases. I'd really like to see CloD completed to an acceptable standard first. For me, any future purchases depend on whether that happens or not. |

At this point... the only thing left to do is wait till this next patch comes out, when the dev team is ready to let us have it...
saying anything other than thanks to the devs is really doing nothing but harassing them, or just complaining for the sake of complaining... since its not like their just sitting on their butts doing nothing... if you find any big problems AFTER the patch is released, I'm sure there will be an official bug thread you can read to see if someone has already found your problem, then if nobody has, thats when you can voice your concern. |

Coding is not an exact science. There will always be bugs in any complex code you write, you're just going to have to live with it.
People should be thankful that the crew have come out and explained the situation. They're being open about whats going on which is a complete 180 from years ago. Don't critise them, they can just as easily go back to not feeding you anything. Critising them will mean the community hasn't changed and it's better to say nothing, than front up here and put their hand up and say sorry guys you're going to have to wait a bit longer and still get their head bitten off. I'd rather be told about a delay than sit here and not know anything. Last edited by Codex; 04-20-2012 at 10:13 AM. |

They could also walk away from the project completely.

What would be different if they did? All we've had the last 6 months are "when, hopefully, later, soon, maybe, last minute bug etc" For me everything is just empty air until it sits installed on my SSD. Don't get me wrong, I have 2 copies of CloD so I guess that's the bare minimum to call me a fanboy, I love the series but nothing that has happened before, during and after the release of CloD is the community's fault, everything is on the devs. You can say anything you like but it won't change that fact. Walk away from which project anyway? CloD? that project is already finished according to the devs, just gonna fix some bugs and tweak some FM's and then we can continue our massive online coop wars a la BoB, right?
![]() These last minute bugs -however real they maybe- are turning in to a joke, a joke that has stopped being funny.

Not quite sure why you think I'm blaming the community though, another attempt to twist what I've said into something it isn't, the only thing the community is responsible for is their own purchase descisions. Project as in, the series that is being worked on, not CloD in particular. Agreed, it really isn't funny anymore and I absolutely agree with Tree that it stinks of BS.

I'll try to formulate myself in a less emotional way this time. All I'm saying is for me it wouldn't matter if they stopped working on any projects since I'm not playing the current one at the moment and I won't play their next one either unless I see really good feedback from reviewers and the majority of simmers out there. For me, nothing would be different if they stopped any projects that they may or may not be developing.
