Are your installs in your program folder if so I would move it right to your "C" drive. Next thing see how many cores you are using in your task manager while your game is running.

All games installed to C:\Games\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 (variant).

All conf.ini's are set to "ProcessAffinityMask=1", I've also tried changing it to =2 with no effect.
