Except the fact that German night fighter pilots never had to use onboard radar. It was the radar operator who did this job and fed pilots with information. Unless the game allows you to play as radar operator and command the pilot where to fly, players would have to do the job of two people at once. I would be happy with system like in modded 1946, where you receive instruction from an imaginary radar operator.

![]() The Heinkel He 219 Uhu Uhu (Owl) was the only Luftwaffe nightfighter capable of stalking and fighting the RAF Mosquito on equal terms. Heinkel first offered the design in August 1940, but the German Air Ministry was not interested, believing that the war would be won before such an aircraft could be produced. Not until RAF night raids were beginning to build up in intensity in late 1941 was it decided to go ahead with the design as a specialized nightfighter. The prototype flew on 15 November 1942. The first experimental mission was flown by Major Werner Streib from Venlo, Holland on the night of 11-12 June 1943. Infiltrating a stream of RAF Lancasters bound for Berlin, he shot down five in 30 minutes. Preference continued to be given to the Ju 88G, and only 268 Uhu were completed. Basic armament was six cannon From http://www.reocities.com/pentagon/28...219/he219.html |

Interesting scenario indeed, otherwise it would need more planes like the Avro Manchester, Armstrong Whitworth Whitley, Short Stirling, Handley Page Halifax or Handely Page Hampden, the Defiant as Nightfighter and on the German Side not only BF 110 and Ju 88 also a HE 219, DO 217J or DO 217N would be pretty cool. |

Definately a good choice for Cliffs of Dover ,The Beaufighter in its night fighter role.
From Wikipedia. "The Beaufighter found itself coming off the production line at almost exactly the same time as the first British Airborne Interception (AI) Night fighter radar sets. With the four 20 mm cannon mounted in the lower fuselage, the nose could accommodate the radar antennas, and the general spaciousness of the fuselage enabled the AI equipment to be fitted easily. Even loaded to 20,000 lb (9,100 kg) the plane was fast enough to catch German bombers." There were also six 303`s fitted . The Bf 110-G had radar fitted post Battle of Britain so could be available in BoM. |
