hc-wolf,

so how did you get a series of missions to roll into one unbroken sequence ? and does it allow coop play against AI enemy (with people being able to join while mission is in play, and be able to rejoin when killed etc), AND while friendly AI flying other missions in parallel to human players ?

for this to work you'd need:
- triggers for "end of mission" declaration, when some events occurred (target destroyed, or to much time lapsed before completion of mission) - exists
- friendly/enemy AI would need to be skilled enough to fly a successful mission itself, eg high altitude bomb a specific target while in formation (and be able to successfully destroy the target), have AI fly enemy intercept missions, have AI fly passive protective patrols of its own territory which responds to enemy intrusions etc.... - does not exist
- smooth unbroken gameplay transition to next mission, where previous frontlines and actions by AI have continued to unfold and progress (while we played our specific mission), with player having minimal effect on "outcome of the war" - does not exist (needs to be scripted and manually edited)
- players dont have to exit and restart the game to move on to the next mission - does not exist
- mission briefing info (probably the easiest part) - exists (but non functional in current form, the mission briefings shouldnt interrupt gameplay or AI activity, players should be able to bring up individually new mission info or view them in a briefing hut)
- have players be able to join/part the game at any time while the server continues its "scripted war with a series of unfolding missions" 24/7 - does not exist

with my limited experience in CoD so far (bec of my low fpsec's and gfx problems) i might have overlooked something, but i havnt seen this working yet, and we seem to be a long way off from getting it

to the best of my knowledge oleg and Co did create a dynamic campaign engine with a scripted series of events/missions that unfold in a 24/7 scenario (but with a inbuilt "war outcome" where human players have minimal effect), but it hasnt been included in the game yet. hopefully, like the control of vehicles just added in recently, we will get it soon (but given the current rate of patches that could mean years). afaik there is also no sign of a SDK being released dir the community to work independently on this

I'm not discussing the DCE, as I said already, that is more of a random mission generator than a true campaign, with no continuity from mission to mission.

So I take it no one has heard any word from any developers, either Maddox or otherwise about a Dynamic Campaign Generator for IL-2 CoD?

Yes to all the above, There are AI missions that fight AI from both land and Air and if left alone it is different every time.

You can join as coop groups on one side to help win from the air or compete 1 on 1 in the air against other AI and humans and try to assist ground units to advance by ground attacks or destroying oposition air units.

ZAPATISTA to answer all your points in short All that exists in my dynamic 24/7 war missions.

Can't wait till the maps are improved. You can try them out when the patch is in.

It would be nice, as there's nothing to do in this sim except a handful of quick missions. Most of the time either my wingmen take out the enemy or they completely ignore me and fly away, and I cant catch them. It looks nice though.
