Depends on the game, on-board artillery is capable of indirect fire in Africa and Kursk (ToW2). You can't order them to fire indirectly in ToW1.

Thanks, I'm playing the original so I guess I'm s.o.l. That's too bad as it makes them pretty useless in the game.
