You could choose a hero on airport, but later, there was a special room in your house where you could change clothes(shoes, pants, T-shirts etc.) which you bought it in store earlier. There was also a possibility to change shape of face, color of hair and eyes of your character.

I don't know that, I had a problem with TDU and I can't save mya game, so I always see the same screen hehe
