Wow, not seeing much of an improvement over FSX visuals wise. It seems like FSX Ver. 1.5 more than anything else. Like nearmiss said, Microsoft sees dollar signs and they want to cash in with the least amount of effort and money wasted as possible.

They've seen firms like A2A and the like making big bucks off of aftermarket planes, textures, sounds, maps, graphical upgrades, etc... This way they are able to use basically the exact same engine to force those parties to go through them and cut a little bit out of their profit margins.

I wouldn't be surprised to see FSX actually outlive MS Flight since they're pretty much the same game, people are still making new graphical enhancements for it, and the library of aircraft is pretty huge. 3rd party devs might dip into the MF Flight Market, but I wouldn't be surprised if they stick to FSX since that's where they're making the "interference free" money. Another reason might be the less emphasis on "simulator" being fact, or just the community seeing it as such. Add all those together and MS flight might just be a gamble that doesn't pay off considering the fans probably won't want to pay for a new product that has considerable less content with little to no visual differences (once FSX has been modded).

I have not done the FSX for over 2 years now. It is boring just flying around, shooting approaches and flying navs. If you were training for an IFR rating or something it would make more sense.

I have to admit flying instruments is a challenge, and FSX at night is fun. Especially with some of the night effects. Daylight VFR is what they are pushing with the photo terrains. Still, that gets boring fast.

Flying the P51 is fun, but alot more fun in online combat. You get to fly combat... what the P51 was designed to do.

IMO, MSFT will sell some stuff, but no future that I can see unless they really get serious about IFR training. I don't see that happening from the comment the guy made about "the mouse is all you need" bit.
