i'm expecting something along the lines of 1946 full switch but with a very simplified CEM, i.e no prop pitch, limited overheat, maybe a slightly more forgiving FM but i'm
definitely expecting stalls and spins and blackouts redouts, realistic ammo loads and convergence settings. The FM on wings of prey wasn't too bad on full switch so it might be similar and thats what i'm expecting nothing as complicated as 1946 or clod but good enough to give me a challenge. takeoffs and landings are a maybe - this is a descendant of wings of prey so it's a possibility but i'm not expecting it but it might be map dependant (see pacific video i posted earlier) depending on difficulty no externals Track ir support has already been mentioned on the website. By the looks of it their trying to stick to historic planes so you buy a spit and you start off with what would essentially be a spit mk1 and the upgrades you buy increase the mark numbers, maybe you'd buy a CSP and turn it into a Mk1a, the next engine would turn it into the equivalent of a MkII etc etc as for silly upgrades like Afterburners etc no idea will have to wait for the beta. But i'm more inclined to agree with recoil they might be pilot based improved vision etc. I do highly recommend reading through the FAQ's there's a lot of info in there worth a look at. http://worldofplanesgame.com/en/game/faq/ Last edited by Fragal; 01-25-2012 at 05:25 PM. |

I seriously doubt there will be such things as "boosterpacks" or "laserguided missiles" (if you will). Will probably be like WoT, different and premium loadouts, engine upgrades, weight reduction via better radio equipment etc. It won't be 100% accurate or maybe even 50% accurate

What this game needs to be a winner, is high number of players allowed per server and large enough maps to encurage strategic playing.
They would get a lot of players that got tired with Aces High.

I just read the FAQ. Sounds pretty promising. Real time ground force movement and an ongoing war is what I wanted IL2 to always have.
The list of flyable planes sounds pretty impressive. Especially the big 4 engine bombers we never had in IL2. Servers limited to only 32 people though, and map size 65km x 65km? Is that large? How does that compare to Cliffs of Dover's map? |

The server limit is crap. The map is quite small compared to our Chanel map (around 200kmx200km), but quite a bit bigger than our small Cross vs Roundelle online map (15kmx15km).

Certainly looks interesting. Does anyone know how new aircraft compare price-wise to other sims like Rise of Flight?

65x65 km maps sounds like gangbang in a barrel.
