I hope they do fix ( a lot !) COD before going on with the new project...But imagine that they would come up with a very good and optimized sequel in few months, even if COD is not completely patched, you would not be tempted to buy the new game and hope for the best for COD ?
You would not be tempted after seeing screens and videos from happy new customers of the new game with all the features to say" oh well, lets move on " and maybe COD will eventually benefit from these new codes...
For $60 you wouldn't ? Cheaper than one meal at a restaurant ?
I would !!!!!

Salute !

No Way! And and set myself up to buy another unfinished game that won't get fixed. Forget it. And if you can only get CoD optimized by buying the sequel, that would be deceitful and possibly fraudulent and I'm not biting.

If they don't fix CoD first only a sucker would buy the sequel. 1C needs to prove themselves before I'd spend another penny. I'd rather have a meal at a restaurant than buy another buggy piece of unfinished software.

The only way they can prove to me they are worth a future purchase is to make good on the first one.

If they fix CoD first I will buy.

Default Luthier HAS set expectations high

I think Luthier HAS set expectations very high for the next patch and for CloD in general…”50 percent better performance, fixed AI, better FM, more immersive sound design, new, breakthrough game feature that will be the envy of the genre, etc, etc, etc. If the next patch does not deliver in a big way, his and 1C’s credibility will be greatly diminished. And will certainly hurt sales of the sequel. I think that is why the patch is no where in sight. It’s so far away in fact that there is nothing to communicate beyond open ended statements like “We are working on it and it will be done when it’s done.”

I dont understand why they dont get minor bugs fixed on a regular basis and deliver the big thing in salami tactics slice by slice..

Neither does the majority of sensible persons here, and if he thinks that there will be a wealth of gullible persons here ready to buy the next half baked project he may well do himself a favour and think again.

I can't believe we are talking about a sequel to this effort without the former project being sorted out first,it's getting very boring and tiresome now, having to explain to him and his team that the fundementals of this sim, let's pick comms for instance, which are still in a state of not fully working correctly.

Come on Luthier walk before you run!

Maybe it's just me but this forum is definatley not as busy as it used to be either, guys are losing their patience with it I can only guess,as said time and time again,a few comments from the devs now and then would go a long way, rather than the usual silences that seem to last forever.

Come on guys, get a grip for goodness sake. The sky is not falling down. CloD will live and we'll all have a fantastic sim to play for the next 10 years. Just need a little patience and a bit of perspective.

The devs are working hard and making it better...no doubt about it. Just take the sounds for instance. I personally can't believe how good they are. It feels great getting behind that big throaty engine and the sounds from the ground are amazing too. Now imagine what it'll be like when they apply the same magic to AI, Comms etc.........

Good things will come in time, just you see. But we need to have a little sympathy for the situation that Luthier is in and an undertstanding for just how complex this beast really is. This kind of stuff takes a long time to fix and debug but they will deliver, I have no doubt.

In the meantime I'm having a great time flying this thing and improving my skills. There's so much to enjoy already in this product. The potential is enormous. And no, I don't have a monster rig - just an i7 920 2.66Ghz with 2GB memory and an old Geforce GTS 250 1MB graphics card.

Please take your overwhelming negativity elsewhere. The devs are working hard to make us the sim we want and given time will deliver something remarkable, just like in the IL2 days.

I really don't know why you bother showing your face here. Always laying the boot in.

I have a right to post just like you and don't feel I'm being overly negative in this case. I took another look and feel it's pretty accurate and reflects what has been said and where we stand.

they have little choice but to work on it until it is practically perfect after the 9 months of whining since release, if it is anything less then god knows how much worse that will be, Luthier daren't say anything more than 'hello' or it will be interpreted as another promise to be broken, all this talk of 'feelings' being thrown around here and nobody stops to imagine if the devs have any, the critics here have become nothing more than an 'angry mob'.....no wonder they just wan't to hide......wouldn't you?

My guess is they will aim for an early release of a new game with all the bells and whistles to get new money and then transfer manpower to COD...
At this point, to be honnest, they would have to make a lot of upgrades , put alot of money and manpower on COD to get the communuty satisfied and stop the whining.By the time they would achieve that, it is probable when the new game could be released with all the team working on it...
But we are all guessing, are'nt we ?
