I've been away from IL-2 for quite a while (got kinda distracted with SH3/4 and then RoF), but I spent a few years with IL-2 a while back and always loved it. I saw something about the 4.11 release over on the RoF forums and just had to come by and see what was up.

WOW - this looks like a tremendous amount of very good work, and after dusting off my 1946 DVD and patching up to 4.11, I have to say I'm amazed how well IL-2 has survived and progressed after all this time. Just took a Bf-109F2 for what turned out to be a leisurely tour over Army Group Center's operational area (I'd forgotten how much harder it was to navigate in IL-2 than it is in RoF - got completely lost but actually managed to fly roughly along the mission plan and make it back home, thanks to that new invention called radio ) - missed all the action but had a blast anyway. Looking through the 4.11 manual it's clear there's a ton of cool new stuff to check into since I last saw IL-2, and I'm looking forward to spending lots more time in the IL-2 skies.

Thanks for all this effort and for breathing new life into this great old sim - fantastic job!
