Check in your IL-2 1946 folder for a file called "hs_err_pidXXXX.log" The Xs indicate a series of numbers.
You may have more than one. Look for the most recent one and see if it matches with the last time you tried to start the game. The contents of this file may describe the crash. If you installed over HSFX or another mod then stuff may be seriously screwed up as well.
