SLI is working m8, the only thing is you have to set it up yourself manually, but it is possible to do so. There is plenty information on how to do it in the technical forums for nvidia users.

I tried everything that has been suggested there. And i can manage to get it to work. But WHEN it works it either produces inacceptable flickering or worse than single GPU performance.

I'm sorry, that's not my case, I got SLI running fine, no flickers or anything at all. I agree SLI need to be back to the game from the dev team, just wondering if you tried with the trick at the tech forum.
