Speaking of Saitek: As I have two of those x52-bastards, I decided to disassemble one throttle. Those potis inside look rather cheap and the spiking annoys the hell out of me.
Now, the question is:
Are they available in higher quality, if so, where can I get them and finally: will they be compatible with the saitek software/PCB?
Thx.
Well, not really into this stuff.
What you are looking for is linearity tolerance, but first you should find out what resistance your build-in-poti has ( 10K 100K 1K? ), because it's also important for which resistance the chip is build. Or else the resolution and signal-to-noise-ratio will become even more bad.

Normal lin tolerance is +-5%. But a better lin tolerance than +-3% I have'nt seen.
Also important is the angle you can turn your poti. ( 270° 360° 3600° )

Knowledge is grapped through google, wiki and FAQ by producers, so please don't complain.
