TS Overlays

I have to admit, I've never used an 'overlay' for TS or Vent and I'm not sure what they do? Is it worth it to use one? Does it impinge on immersion? Does it affect your framerate?

The only reason I got interested in it was to get to know the players in mulitplayer: Years ago I played "Fighter Ace" joined a squad and made some very deep friendships. I guess I am looking for that in COD. I like to know who I am talking to. Frame rates ? I dont think so, however distracting ? possibly. instead of looking for enemy planes I might be looking to see if it "Fred" talking.

We will see.

I found TSnotifier slowed my game down, but then it could'nt get much slower anyway, so thats probably why. Hopefully when i up date my pc i'll be able to use notifier better then. When you're not flying with a regular mob I find it's good to have some sort of overlay personally.
