Did you ever notice that the Roman numerals on clocks and watches are nearly always written incorrectly?
The IIII works better than IV, so it is used instead.  I see it every day, but never noticed until it was pointed out to me a while ago.

i think the IIII on analogic clocks is to allow for the 11:11 phenonomena, crazy stuuff if you endure it
