Ati 6970 2gb and hexacore cpu still stutters

Well, the 2560 res of this 27'' screen is killing my frames. On 1920 I get 40-60 no problems with all maxed. But everything is sooo crisp in native so I run a mix of settings and get 30-35 avg and nice quality. My hope is with code optimization to give me 5 or more frames.
Btw, I overclocked the card from 680/900 to 860/1100. Got a small heatproblem but working on that.
Ohh and yeah, stutters alot!!
