There is no doubt in my mind now about how great this will be eventually.

The really patchy look of the terrain seems to have much decreased, I guess owing to the increased diffuse scattering of haze. Atmospheric perspective seems to be nicer too, and flying at altitude looks very convincing. Tonight I will definitely take a scenic tour with the new patch.
