Well I manually installed the patch and now the game will not launch at all! Tried to launch from the in file launcher without Steam but it still demands the spawn of Satan known as Steam be activated.

Frankly my patience with this POS has now been exhausted. Why praise is being heaped upon developers for releasing a patch that still fails to bring the product up to the standard it should have been on release, and drops the already appalling frame rate still further, mystifies me.

I will check back in 12 months or so to see if anything has really improved. But I'm only doing that in the vain attempt to not totally lose the £50 I was conned out of to begin with. That's the only thing saving it from being binned.

Fifty quid! I must have been nuts!!

You whine like a little beech! Beta patch, I would bet that you have screwed up the installation of it! I don't hear many others having too many problems.

Before installing the zip file. Right click and select properties, Click on Unblock so that all the files are downloaded. This should install all the files required. Windows 7 and Vista seem to have a problem with zips. Or you can wait for the beta to finish and Steam gets the new patch download from the devs, usually by the end of the week.

I will be seeding the torrent as long as I can. There were 0 people seeding when I downloaded. Unfortunately, I have Steam and I can't even use the patch...

It's no problem to download the patch via the direct link rather than torrent. Just extract to CoD folder, works fine with Steam here, just don't validate files in Steam as this puts it back to last version

Awesome, I've had problems with patches in other games when not downloaded through steam. Good to hear it works. Also, there were plenty of people seeding, my uTorrent was just moving slower then frozen snot.

First I have to say thank you for the awesome job devs and thanks for the tip on the unblock. By chance does anyone know how to keep the outer 2 screens on a 3 screen setup from looking stretched out? thanx in advance. PS I'm a happy camper now.

Probably better off starting a new thread as replies may be missed in a patch release topic. But here's an article on Widescreen (eyefinity) settings that may help

When I first booted up it took much longer to load to the point where I thought there was an error. Load times have reduced though longer than before - if you deleted the cache folder it may be worth trying again and give it a few minutes.
