Bf-109 Gear Down Tactic?

Sometimes when I press the landing gear button on takeoff they go to "neutral" instead of "up" position, meaning it takes more than one key press to get them up. I'm wondering if that's happening to others as well. Hitting the button thinking their gear is up when it really isn't?

By the way, anyone know why there's 3 positions for the 109 gear? what does the neutral gear position do? unless they modeled it wrong like the prop pitch at first where it's spring loaded and should move back to neutral when not holding up or down???
