Very Satisfying!

Last night I was on line and picked up a round from a German tail gunner that put a spray of oil over my windscreen. In a fraction of a second I went from being the attacker to nursing a crippled fighter back to the closest airbase from half way across the Channel.

I was still over water when my engine died completely. Luckily I'm starting to get familiar with the lay of the land around Dover and could spot the land marks to lead me back to Hawkhinge Aerodrome.

There was a distinct feeling of relief as I dropped my undercarriage as I crossed the hedge (trees at the boundary of the strip) and flared out for a dead stick landing!

Even with no kills, just getting out of the mission alive was extremely satisfying.
