Had some software issues with my G940, but it now works like a dream. (It only took me three months to work it out).
No longer considering selling, it's the veritable dog's taters. I'd say go for the G940. It feels so good. |

I have both X52 and X52pro too and the pro pedals as well and they are all great.
The pro has better tension than the standard X52 and I dont have a problem with it. I did the X52 pro magnet/hall sensor mod about 6 months ago which dramatically improved centre sensitivity. The software is great, the number of switches, hats and axis is awesome. I have had the pro since they released several years ago with not one problem! The pedals are great as long as you have something to hold them in place, as they are not that heavy and willl move on carpet or floorboards. They are durable though as long as you dont try push your self out from your desk as I have done a few times. This can cause the internal mech to become unaligned and jam and you then have to take it apart and realign it. Not a huge problem as it has never actually broken but you just have to remember not to push against both pedals at once with too much force! I havent done this for a long time now (several years) and they are still working as good as new! I have tried some of the cheaper logitech sticks and a G940 in a shop but didnt like the feel of the G940 and the cheap Logitech 3d extreme pro only lasted 2-3months before becoming a twitching quivering mess! IMHO the only sticks worth considering are X52pro, almost any CH stick or the Warthog. |

Yes, the magnet mod is almost compulsory for the x52 IMHO. I did mine with paper clips to support the magnets which was very easy to install.
Regarding the spring tension I went the other way and reduced it using some cable ties. Reducing the tension makes the centre much easier to handle accurately. |

my x52 just died, lights kept flashing on and off, had it less than a year, throttle still working, took the stick apart and found broken wire and fried circuit board, will be going with ch fighterstick.

My only beef is I can't find replacement switches nor the pots for the Throttle which, like any stick, wear out after some time. I've had my X52Pro for about 6 years and the rudders for about 4. One stick switch went 'sticky' about a year ago but has cleared up now. The X Rotary on the throttle has a worn centrepoint, too much elevator trimming I would consider buying top CH stuff but I can't afford it.

ch fighter stick is the best stick i have ever owned, get a second hand x52 and use the throttle, with some pedals you then have a good setup.

Well ive made my choice...G940
Ive read bad reviews on all the sticks.even the Warthog with its intermittent throttle problem...i guess its like anything, for 1 bad review there are 50 people that love the product.. I hope i dont regret it, only time will tell What helped make my mind up is the FFB, never had it before and if its as good as they say it is im looking forward to trying it.. I paid £199 delivered so it was £50 more than the Saitek setup... Ive had the X52 didnt like it Ive got the CyborgX 6 months and its all over the place Always had Logitech stuff and still have the Speakers..good quality for the ££ Il certainly keep you updated.. Anyone got any ideas on how I hide this setup from the GF? |

The throttle R1 and R2 spikes after several hours of usage my or may not appear. Be prepared to exchange your G940 rather often - but when you've modded it, no warranty, so you might have to mod thet, too (see here) Artist Last edited by Artist; 07-28-2011 at 12:48 PM. |

Ive had several x52's from the very first to the Pro, the pro version i had was awful in that the joystick was very notchy I tried all manner of fixes but none worked. I managed to get hold of another one which was alater version and its been sweet as nut. I think that on the whole £150 for the complete set is a good buy.
