Awesome work!

Thanks for sharing this and in such excellent understandable form!

It all looked fine to me until the moment I saw the soldering work...

Anyway I will keep your post, just in case one day it is needed by people I know.

Thanks!

What is the response like from the pots now that you've modded it? Do they flicker?

The response is instant. No flicker at all. I was leery about it because of the suspicion of Logitech using poor quality potentiometers (especially after seeing how cheesy the throttle pots are) but I have to admit that everything is very stable and VERY precise. Also, Leo Bodnar's BU0836 board might do a good job at filtering all of that out as well!

All I can say is that it is behaving VERY WELL and I now love my G940 once again!

I do have an intermittent connection for the R2 trim and have traced it down to the network cable plug at the throttle. That's probably what I get for using cheap monoprice parts but I will be redoing that part of it, probably running a permanent cable from the throttle to the BU0836 controller board with only one plug instead of two.

As far as the soldering goes don't let that scare you. My soldering is far from 'professional' but still provides a very good electrical connection. It's not very difficult at all (just be careful not to burn yourself).

Its bizzare that they haven't fixed this yet when its not apparently doing anything apart from ruining the the controller. I still use the G940 for Clod as the stick is excellent. Really sad that the powers at be won't see sense on this issue when you and others have proved there is no issue in using the raw ouput from the pot.

why so complicated? There is a less expensive, less time consuming way with far better results http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=69785

JumpingHubert,

Is not case. Every with HALL sensor or high quality pots, ie. Bourns, Spectrol, the G940 reverse bug still. The problem is in firmware. MasterTec solve this with different controller.

G940 already use HALL sensor (Melexis 3D - same of T.16000M, Warthog) in X and Y axis.
