LOL...those .303 pea shooters sure frustrate.

Now, if you'd been in a 109 the 110s would have long been dispatched.

Yeah, well, they did chop down a couple of 110's at the end... - I personally find that it makes a huge difference to be shooting at the proper convergence distance with the .303's.

And, well, at least I actually hit the target with them, if only scratching the paint job. My 60 rounds of cannon ammo in the 109's usually sneak right past their targets! - The cannons are truly a weapon for Experten, whereas the eight .303's are for the rest of us humdrum wannabe's...

Freycinet,
for more immersion a few things that could be better, imho.
First thing, when starting the 109 you use the "Handpumpe" -> This pump is only for emergency extraction of the landing-gear, the manual fuel injection isn`t modeled.
Second thing, for warm up you only open the water cooler to about 50 %, the oil cooler stays closed until 40°C are reached, then open to about 40%.
Third thing, after take off reduce the ata to about 1,2 to preserve the engine, adjust rpm to 2450 for climbing.
fourth thing, when reaching the wanted altitude go to 2250 rpm for fast cruise.
fifth thing, when seeing contacts go immediately to 2450 rpm and 1,32 ata, don't wait for the enemy to be close and you are not ready.
The movie as it is is just fine, that would be only small improvements as i see it.
cheers

robtek, thanks a million for all the advice! - I am a true amateur when it comes to CEM so this is all very helpful. I didn't know how to deal with ata at all! Is it the same as boost on the Brit planes? OK, the handpump is just for emergencies? Should I have used it later, when the gear didn't come down?

Hi Freycinet,

Always a pleasure to watch your videos. I don't have the game since my computer would not run it, but what I see certainly looks very inviting. I hope you don't mind some observations/questions though?

It seems to me that the looking around/zooming is not as fluid and smooth as one would expect in real life. I don't know if that has something to do with your TrackIR setup or if that's just the way the game is. In Wings of Prey this seems much smoother, although I don't use TrackIR for that but an analog stick. The other thing is that the sudden switch to a close up zoom view (for shooting) and to flyby view, which for me kill the otherwise excellent immersion.

It would be great to see a video purely from the pilot's view from start to end, without any switch zooming or flyby views, just as a pilot would have seen it. Perhaps just a slight leaning forward with Track IR to get a better sight on the target, but not as much as the switch zooming does (too unrealistic I think).
