Blackdog_kt thank you this is exactly what I have been looking for. I am assuming that the reason we have "profiles" for our controllers is to permit say a setup for the type of aircraft we we wish to use? Such as a default would be say a spitfire and we can create a profile for a bomber since you have more work to do like sighting / opening and closing doors / adjusting speeds and altitude within the sight? Is this correct?

I believe what I need to do is spend some time tonight working on an He-111 profile and getting keys set the way one would be comfortable with.

Blackdog_kt I appreciate your knowledge I have seen many many very informative post from you on a range of topics and truly value your knowledge and experience on these. You are really like this forums R&D department.

Thanks a bunch for your help. I will spend some time reading over this and working this out tonight for sure.

And yes I agree with the other post here. There needs to be a sticky based on aircraft so one can dig into their topic of choice and read the experts and follow along.

Peace!

Couple issues I had online today in Repka #1. When I switched crewmember positions my autopilot would reset back to North or 0 degree. Next is I had my bomb bay doors open, auto bombsight on, and when the bombsight reaches what would be normal drop angle in 1946 nothing happened, bombsight went all the way to 0 and turned itself off without no apparent dropping of the bombs. I tried to do a manual drop on a second approach and I couldnt tell if my bombs dropped. Then how do I know what fuse I am using in online play? It may be possible that my bombs dropped but did not explode due to me being at 650m as there is a >1km fuse option for the 250kg.

The more I learn the more questions I have. Arghhh.

Detonator selection does play a role, it's highly possible your bombs failed to detonate if you were too low.

You can create as many profiles as you want, but currently the only way to switch between them is to manually load them from within the options.

Maybe in the future we'll be able to set which profile will be the default for each aircraft.

In any case, what you say is a matter of preference (for example, i prefer to have one profile for all aircraft so that i don't get confused) but it's definitely possible if you like to do things that way.

I'm a bit late to this thread, but I confess I read Blackdog's wall of text and most of it went right over my head (much like the bombers, lol). Isn't there a way to just drop bombs in the HE111 (etc) manually, without using the bombsight?

I have no idea how to any of the stuff previously mentioned, and spending 45 minutes arsing about with the autopilot and bomb aiming controls is just too much! Does switching off 'realistic bombing' do the trick?

Just had a try with 'realistic bombing' off, loaded up the german attack on airfield quick mission, swapped stukas for HE111's and off I went.....

but there are no bombs in the bomb bay? What on earth is that all about?! Can't bomb without bombs! Same in the JU88 as well!

the loadout options are still bugged, to say the best............
save yourself some personal loadouts via the FMB, than you can choose them in singleplayer missions with ease.

the sortcut "release bombs" is not working in any bomber..............
Only from pilots position, 'smart', isnt it ?!?!

in a Blenheim and FIAT you have still the chance to release the bombs from bombardier position to activate the release buttons/lever with the mouse in the 3D cockpit.
In the Heinkel and Junkers you are dependend on the automatic gunsight.

Thanks for the reply frankyboy - I'm a bit shocked lol, can't believe there are no bombs in the bombers! It's a loadout issue then.. and the preflight loadout screen no longer works! Brilliant
