I was surprised at the height of Nelsons Column, maybe it is because we have got used to the modern skyline which is alot higher now and lack of other buildings around.
The houses at times look like rows of railway carriages.
A good video though and something the developers should have been doing to promote the game.
I am surprised by the smaller details when they haven't got some larger basics correct ie engine sounds, cockpits and lack of some landmarks and inaccurate maps.
You state you had to edit it to get it to show smooth
"I recorded at slow speed and corrected with movie editor to ensure a smooth image."
What was the quality of the gameplay before editing?
Thanks for the video ,very nice.

Thanks Trumper

You can reduce game speed up to 1/16 of normal speed.

With my "outdated" rig (intel 4 core and GTX480 card) the gameplay at normal speed was stuttering with flickering and pop-ups but depending on the amount of objects on the screen the fps changed between 10 and 30.

The video fps is 25. If you record at 1/16 game speed then a game fps of 2 will result into a perfectly smooth video when normalized to the correct game speed in the movie editor (Sony Vegas). Even all tree and building flickering disappears with the final video. With the slow game speed I do not experience building pop-ups either.

Again I think this game is ahead of its time; we need the future super computers to run this game like soap and then it will be appreciated for what it is intended for.

That is why I think this game is ahead of its time; we need the future super computers to run this game like soap and then it will be appreciated for what it is intended for.
I had no problem with a reasonable PC to land and taxi up too the Palace at about 20fps, occasional small pauses if I looked around but smooth otherwise, not too much popup, but when I tried to record, it crashed the game, havent had that happen yet, unlike others. I have settings high to max except forest is medium and so is ground shadows, everything else on except SSAO and EP, they have done a lot in short space of time, when I think that I couldnt face land when the game was released without it dropping to 1fps.

I do only run at 1680x1050 as im still using a 22in lcd.

Nice video by the way, I wish they would have building crossing roads , but Im sure someone can straighten the roads, buidings etc out some day, it does still look quite good imo.

Hi thanks Tiger;

All settings max

I experience just once the 2 fps when flying past the parliament building tower and passing through the bullet impact debris/dust cloud where you can see hundreds of small pieces of glass?.

I'm not too sure about that. Alot of things in this sim have been done sloppy and I can't rid the feeling that the code is not optimized. Focus has been on functionality.
Luthier himself said that next patch will be even more optimized for quads or over to the extent that frames are almost doubled.
That would give me a smooth London ride with my iMac.
But I agree that anything pre2011 is probably not enough to see all the candy even when optimized.
