Cool Ver.1.01.14588 issues DFLion

PCconfigDFLion
OpSys: Win7pro 64bit
Processor: Intel Core2 Extreme Q6850 @3.00Ghz
Ram: 8GB Corsair
Video card: ATI HD4870x2
Display: Benq24 1920x1200 (59Hz)
Direct X: DirectX11
Sound: Creative SB X-FI

After flying 5 missions at 60fps +-, the fps started to drop away to 32fps, then down to 17-20fps. Then suddenly the sound cut-out. I restored the sound by getting out of the game then restarting it, though the fps was still low at 17-20fps.

Another observation flying at 60fps, as soon as I (CTRL'd F2) to another aircraft the fps dropped to 32fps and stayed there, then gradually dropped away to 17-20fps.

With this version I noticed some graphic issues, mainly over the sea, though their were some on the land - see thumbnails attached.

When flying a mission with German aircraft taking-off at the same time as you (in Spitfire) there is another dramatic drop in fps. Several members have mentioned some type of 'memory leak'. I think the RAM is being used effectively at the beginning of the mission, then for some reason it is staying used and not renewing its full capacity as the mission progresses, which ultimately drags down the fps.

I have tweaked my ATI Catalyst 3D controls to get the best fps 60-70+fps, then the whole fps gradually dies while flying the missions.

To compare fps, I flew a few missions in IL-2 1946 - 140-170fps during flight and 450fps in the mission selection screens? Ilya and team, these are the fps target rates you have got to eventually try and get to?

Cool Cloud Synchronization ver. 1.01.14588

Quote from Luthier

"If you experience sub-par performance or unexpected artifacts please update your graphic
drivers to the latest version.
ATI Cards:
http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloa...downloads.aspx
NVidia Cards:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
Additionally, if you have disabled Cloud Synchronization for config files, you may be playing
a game with an obsolete controls config. Please back up and delete your old file and reenable Cloud Synchronization to grab a latest stock version"

I forgot to mention in my previous post that I have upgraded to the latest ATI graphic drivers.

I find 'Steam' to be very insidious (proceeding inconspicuously but with harmful effect). Sadly I wish for the good old IL-2 Sturmovik Days when you just posted a patch through Mission4Today. Steam seems to pervade your computer from every direction and you can't communicate with it. It might be good for your security and reporting on member useage/statistics etc. though for me with a wireless broadband with 3GB, its a pain!

Ilya (or team member) could you very kindly explain a little more about the how 'Cloud' works in 'Steam' and if we get an automatic 'Steam' upgrade with the 'Cloud' sychronization automatically upgrading the 'controls config.'?

Yeah what i can not work out is Luthier says "Additionally, if you have disabled Cloud Synchronization for config files, you may be playing
a game with an obsolete controls config. Please back up and delete your old file and reenable Cloud Synchronization to grab a latest stock version" So why back up your old file or more to the pont if you back it up when do you get to reuse it. Seems to me they are clutching at straws here

I'm sure they are, but it won't be on your rig, and it wont be this year. You did notice that the game engine is MASSIVELY more complex graphically AND in complexity??? You're not in IL2 1946 anymore Dorothy..
