Im gonna try and update by bios and see if that helps. If not its either XP 32 bit or by a new mobo.
Maybe it just takes for ever. How long did you wait before you aborted?

I use win.7 but also test on XP each new patch.
So far nothing new. Performance is terrible and graphics are too buggy.
My plane is half transparent, I can see the propeller through the cockpit, damage decals don't show up, Ground becomes a big black patch with land shading on anything above "low", low-level flight with trees on anything other than off results in 5FPS and overall performance sucks. Also reloading flights sometimes ends up with the sim. displaying the loading screen but no loading bar- no progress at all.

On windows 7 it's like a totally different product- one that works (latest patch worked wonders, either).

I gave it about 10 minutes then said f-it. I ran the same win7 on my laptop and it only took a few seconds to get past the main windows screen.

Heres my system currently
Biostar A760G M2+
Athlon Phenom X3
2GB DDR2
EvgaGTS250
Win XP Pro 32

Im thinking it may need a bios flash. Biostar website says it supports vista
so I was assuming that win7 would also be supported

I was running CloD up until last week on XP SP3 but had too many graphic issues and painfully slow load times. Biggest difference was upgrade to Win7, Presler to Wolfdale cpu and GTX 260 to GTX 550Ti. Runs much smoother on med-high detail with good fps.

If you google it, some ppl says it can hang up to 30min in the situation you described, then suddenly, continues to install.

Otherwise: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/bios.php?S_ID=394
