That's true. I just tried lowering the saturation on my HD6850's settings, and increasing contrast a bit to get deeper shadows, and it only ended up looking like WoP. Not life-like, just more cinema-like.

I think most GPUs have the option to do this anyways, so for those who want to try it - knock yourselves out! I think the colors in CoD look great.

I just changed the saturation ( digital vibrance )in the nVidia controls . The default is 50. I changed it to 30. It looks good , I also play racing simulators and with this it looks more natural too.

At least in Wellington video the colors are not ingame ones according to the author. In Wellington video thread he mentioned that he reduced saturation, added some white glow, reduced green a bit and added some brown iirc.

Ingame colors are fine though for 12.00 at a sunny day. We lack high alt clouds to get more correct light on the ground I think.

Great vid, I love how watching these movies lets you see all the little details that you miss when playing the game, like how the wheels are still spinning as the gear retracts, or how the machine guns actually have holes in the end of the barrels. The explosions and the hangar collapse animations are just wonderful. Great stuff.

Well, I go flying over the South of England at around 12:00 quite often and I think the colours in CloD look reasonable, but not particularly good. RoF is better. To me the main differences between real life and CloD are:

1. The real life colours are darker and more intense than in CloD. Green fields can be a bright but intense green.

2. Trees look darker from the air than they do in CloD.

3. Real-life fields often have dark green hedges at their borders.

To me, CloD looks washed out and too pale compared to real life.

Cheers,

Nick
